How to view Goal Insights as a reporting manager ?

Keka’s Goal Insights feature equips Department Heads and Managers with a powerful, real-time view of how teams and individuals are progressing on goals. It brings together goal data, progress tracking, alignment indicators, and actionable insights—all in one place.

This article explains how to access and use Goal Insights effectively.

Accessing Goal Insights

1. Go to My Team from the left navigation menu.

2. Select the Performance tab.

3. Click on Goal Insights.

Goal Insights is divided into two key sections:

1. Department Insights

2. Employee Insights

Department Insights

Department Heads have access to this view. It provides a complete breakdown of department-wide goal progress and alignment.

Goal Types in Keka

Keka supports three different types of goals:

1. Individual Goals: Assigned to a single employee and tied to their personal responsibilities and development.

2. Department Goals: Shared objectives owned by a department, reflecting collective efforts toward departmental success.

3. Company Goals: High-level strategic objectives aligned with the organisation’s vision.

Key Widgets Under Department Insights

Employees

1. Shows the total number of employees belonging to the selected department.

Department Goals

1. Displays the total count of department-level goals.

Departments Without Goals

1. Indicates if the selected department has not created any goals. A View button allows quick navigation to goal details.

Department Goals Not Updated

1. Shows how many department goals have not been updated. You can click View to review and follow up as needed.

Department Goals by Status

A donut chart visually categorises goals as:

1. Not started

2. On track

3. Needs attention

4. At risk

5. Closed

Department Goal Progress

1. Shows the average progress percentage for the selected department within the chosen timeframe.

Unaligned Department Goals

1. Displays the number of department goals that are not aligned to any higher-level goal.

   

Department Goals Overview

1. A detailed table showing:

• Department name

• Total goals

• Unaligned goals

• Goal status breakdown

• Goal progress

• Days since last update

  

This provides a crisp snapshot of how the department is performing.

Employee Insights

Both Department Heads and Managers can access Employee Insights.

• Department Heads see insights for all employees in their department.

• Managers see insights only for their direct reports.

Key Widgets Under Employee Insights

Employees

1. Displays the total number of employees in scope.

Goals

1. Shows the total number of goals created by these employees.

Employees Without Goals

1. Lists employees who haven’t added any goals. A Remind option allows you to notify them via email.

Employee Goals Not Updated

1. Shows employees who haven’t updated their goals recently. You can send reminders directly from this view.

Total Goals

1. Displays total goals grouped by goal type using a donut chart.

Goals by Status

1. Shows a visual status breakdown: Not started, On track, Needs attention, At risk, Closed.

Unaligned Goals

1. Shows the total number of unaligned goals with a goal-type breakdown.

   

Employee Goals Overview

A powerful table showing each employee’s:

1. Name and job title

2. Total goals

3. Unaligned goals

4. Status breakdown

5. Goal progress

6. Days since last update

   

This table provides a complete picture of each employee’s goal performance journey.

Goal Insights brings clarity, transparency, and control to managers and department heads. With visual breakdowns, alignment insights, and action buttons to follow up, you get everything needed to keep goals on track.
