You can add KRAs (Key Result Areas) in Keka to set clear performance goals for yourself, your team, or your department. KRAs help track progress against measurable targets and align with performance reviews.
This article shows how to add KRAs, set metrics, assign ownership, and configure all relevant settings in the Performance module.
To add a new KRA:
Go to the Performance tab from the top menu.
Click My Team from the left sidebar.
Select Team KRAs at the top of the page.
Choose a department (e.g., Onboarding) and reporting type (e.g., Direct Reports).
Click the + Add KRAs button at the bottom-right.
Fill in KRA details:
In the Add KRA panel, enter your goal under What do you want to achieve? (e.g., Improve Customer Retention).
(Optional) Click +Add Description to add context.
Set the Metric type:
Options include: Percentage, Number, etc.
Define the Target range:
Enter the start and end values (e.g., 0 to 100).
Choose whether to increase or decrease the value.
(Optional) Enter a Metric name like Tickets.
Select the KRA type:
Individual, Department, or Company
Choose the Owner of the KRA (e.g., Rica).
Select the Department the KRA belongs to (e.g., Onboarding).
Choose a Time Frame (e.g., TiE Global).
Pick the Start date and End date.
(Optional) Add a Weightage for the KRA (e.g., 100).
(Optional) Click +Add Tags to organise or filter KRAs later.
(Optional) Enable Automatically calculate from a data source if available.
Add a KPI (if needed):
Enable the checkbox Include in review.
In the KPI section, enter the specific result to be achieved (e.g., Increase Net Promoter Score).
Fill out the same metric and ownership details as for the KRA.
Finalise the KRA:
Click Save As Draft to review later, or
Click Publish to activate the KRA immediately.
Options & Variants
KRA Type:
Individual – assigned to one person.
Department – shared across a team.
Company – aligned to organisational goals.
Metric Type:
Choose between Percentage, Number, etc., depending on how you want to track progress.
Target Direction:
You can track progress by choosing whether the goal should Increase from or Decrease to a specific value.
Auto Calculation:
Some KRAs can be linked to data sources for automatic updates, if your setup supports it.
Notes & Tips
- Use clear, measurable outcomes for better tracking (e.g., "Increase NPS by 25%" instead of "Improve NPS").
- A maximum of 15 KRAs can be added per performance cycle.
- If a KRA applies to multiple team members, use the Department type and assign ownership accordingly.
