The Progress Summary on the Department Goals and Company Goals pages helps leaders and managers quickly understand how goals are progressing across teams and the organisation.
It provides a high‑level view of overall progress, goal health, and progress by timeframe—without needing to review each goal individually.

What the Progress Summary Shows
1. Average Progress
The Average Progress (%) shows the overall progress of all goals currently visible on the screen.
How it is calculated
- The progress values of all visible goals are averaged equally.
- Each goal contributes the same weight to the final percentage.
- Goal weightages are not considered for Department and Company views.
This approach ensures the progress shown represents a true snapshot of organisational execution, without being influenced by how individual goals were configured.
Why weightages are not included
- Goal weightages are designed for individual ownership and priority setting.
- At Department and Company levels, goals are created by multiple owners across teams.
- Including weightages at these levels can distort progress and make results difficult to interpret.
By using a simple average, the summary answers a clear question:
“On average, how far along are our goals?”
Note: Weightages continue to be respected in My Goals and My Team Goals, where individual prioritisation matters.
2. Goals by Status
The Goals by Status section shows how visible goals are distributed across key statuses:
- Not Started
- On Track
- Needs Attention
- At Risk
- Closed
For each status, you can see:
- A colour indicator
- The number of goals in that status
- The total number of goals included in the summary
This helps you understand goal health, not just overall progress.
3. Timeframe Progress
Each timeframe (for example, 2025 or H2‑2025) displays:
- A progress bar
- A percentage value
How timeframe progress works
- Progress is computed only for goals within that timeframe.
- Goals are averaged equally—no weightages are applied.
- This allows easy comparison of progress across different periods.
Timeframe progress helps answer questions like:
- Which periods are progressing well?
- Where is execution slowing down?
- Which timeframe needs attention during reviews?
Dynamic & Filter‑Aware Behaviour
The Progress Summary updates automatically based on:
- Selected timeframe(s)
- Applied filters (Status, Tags, Department)
- Expanded or collapsed goal sections
Only the goals currently visible on the page are included in the calculations, ensuring the summary always matches what you are reviewing.
Why This Matters
By excluding goal weightages at the Department and Company level, the Progress Summary provides:
- Clear and explainable progress numbers
- A consistent view across teams and leadership
- Reduced confusion during reviews and discussions
This makes Department and Company goal pages decision‑ready, helping leaders focus on outcomes—not calculations.
