Assign or Edit Weightages for Objectives, Key Results, and Child Objectives

Introduction

Employees and managers can now assign or edit weightages for objectives, Key Results (KRs), and child objectives—even when no KRs are present. This enhancement makes it easier to prioritise effort and align contributions across the goal structure, without being restricted by KR presence.

Users can access the weightage assignment functionality from the following screens, depending on their role and permissions:

1. My Objectives

2. My Team’s Objectives

3. Department Objectives

4. Company Objectives

Steps to Assign or Edit Weightages 

Navigate to Your Objective

1. Go to Performance > Goals.

2. Select the appropriate tab: Me, My Team, Department, or Company.

3. Scroll to locate the objective you want to modify.

4. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the objective name.

Choose the Weightage Option

1. Hover over Assign/Edit Weightage in the dropdown.

   

2. You’ll see two options:

   1. Objectives in this timeframe – Assign or edit weights across all objectives in the current timeframe.

   2. KRs & Child Objectives of this objective – Assign or edit weights within a specific objective's child items (even if no KRs exist).

      

      You can assign weight to child objectives even if the parent objective has no KRs.

Assign Weightages in the Modal

For “Objectives in this timeframe”

1. Go to Goals in the timeframe window.

   

2. A modal will open showing a list of objectives.

3. Enter the desired weight percentage for each item.

4. The total weightage must equal 100% before you can save.

5. Use Clear Weightage if you need to reset.

6. Click Allocate to confirm or Cancel to discard changes.

   

Weightages reflect each item's contribution to the parent objective’s progress.

For “Child items in this goal”

1. Similarly, click on Child items under this goal.

   

2. A modal will open showing a list of child objectives and/or KRs.

3. Enter the desired weight percentage for each item.

4. The total weightage must equal 100% before you can save.

5. Use Clear Weightage if you need to reset.

6. Click Allocate to confirm or Cancel to discard changes.

   

Notes

Important: The ability to assign weights depends on your role and access level (e.g., employee, manager, admin).

Note: This update only affects the modal-based assignment. There are no changes to the Goals & KRs detail page at this time.

Example: You can now assign 100% weight to the child objective even if no Key Results are added under the main objective. This ensures progress tracking still works.
