PSA: Resource request approval chain and resource insights in PSA

Keka’s PSA module now offers enhanced control and visibility over project staffing with two key updates: Resource Request Approval Chain and Resource Insights. These features are designed to improve project planning by introducing approval workflows and data-driven insights for resource utilization.

Approval chain for resource requests

A structured approval process can now be set up for all resource requests. This helps ensure that every request is properly reviewed before resources are allocated. Project managers can define multi-level approval chains, giving privileged users control over which requests get approved.

Where to raise and approve requests

• Resource requests can be raised directly within project pages.

• Approvers can review and take action from the dedicated approval dashboard.

• The approval chain can be configured in the system settings.

Once configured, the approval process ensures all requests follow the defined review path before being finalized.

Resource insights for better planning

Project managers can now access real-time insights into how resources are being utilized. This includes key trends and patterns around:

• Logged hours

• Leave patterns

• Planned vs. actual work variance

These insights appear within the Resources > Summary tab, right next to the charts. By comparing actual usage with planned allocations, managers can identify gaps early and adjust plans accordingly.
