Writing an Internal Note for an Employee
Follow the steps below to add an internal note for an employee:
Go to the employee’s profile by clicking on their name under the Org > Employee section.
On the top-right corner of the profile, click the three-dot menu (⋮).
From the dropdown, choose Write Internal Note.
4. A pop-up will appear. Add your comment in the text editor provided. You can use formatting options such as bold, bullet points, or underline if needed.
Example: “Consistently met sprint deadlines and took ownership of release testing this quarter. Great cross-functional collaboration too.”
5. Click Submit. The note will be saved and will only be visible to managers and admins.
Viewing Internal Notes
Managers can view all internal notes added for their direct or indirect reports in the Performance section.
- From the left-hand navigation, click on My Team.
- Navigate to Performance at the top, then select Feedback.
- Choose either Direct Reports or Indirect Reports as applicable.
- Under the selected employee’s feedback section, click on the Internal Notes tab.
- You will now see all internal notes recorded for that employee, along with the date, manager's name, and comments.
Notes & Tips
Internal Notes are visible only to Managers and Admins.
These notes are helpful during performance reviews, PIP discussions, or succession planning.
Always use respectful and professional language in notes to ensure objectivity and clarity.
Internal Notes in Keka provide managers with a discreet and structured way to document employee performance, achievements, or areas of concern. By using this feature effectively, managers can maintain a clear history of feedback that supports informed decision-making during reviews and development discussions.
