Rating scales are a key component of performance reviews—they help standardise evaluation criteria and ensure fair, measurable feedback across your organisation. In Keka, you can create, edit, or switch between different rating scales to match your review needs.
Whether you’re setting up a new review cycle or updating an existing one, this guide walks you through the steps to configure rating scales effectively.

Within the selected review cycle, navigate to the Review Form section.

To make changes, click Manage Scales in the top-right corner.
A list of all available rating scales will appear.
To edit an existing scale:

Click Update to apply your changes.
To select different scales :
Check the box next to the preferred scale.
Click Save to apply it to your review form.
To create a new scale:
In the Manage Scales window, click + Add New Scale.
Choose the rating type:
Star-based (default): Uses visual star icons.
Custom Rating: Define your own labels and values.
You can also enable Decimal rating scale to configure decimal usage:
Enable: Allows ratings like 4.5 for more precision.
Disable: Restricts ratings to whole numbers (e.g., 4, 5).
Set a name for the scale.
Define the score values, labels, and optional descriptions.
Click Save. If there are issues (e.g., duplicate name), the system will prompt you to fix them.
Return to the Review Form Settings.
Select the updated or newly created rating scale.
Click Save as Draft or Next to proceed to the rest of the set up.
Important: Once a review group has been launched, rating scales at the group level cannot be modified. You can only make changes at the cycle level.
Customising rating scales allows you to align performance evaluations with your organisation’s unique goals and criteria. By regularly reviewing and updating these scales, you ensure that feedback remains relevant, consistent, and actionable.
