Note: This New Review Cycle Setup is currently an alpha feature and may not be available to all customers. Access will be rolled out in phases.
The review process is the procedure where the reporting manager or team leader evaluates employees accomplishments and progress towards the objective and goals. It happens by comparing achievements with preset expectations and providing feedback to the employees about the same.
As per the organisation's performance management policy, the admin may wish to take into consideration the goals for employees as part of the review cycle. Keka allows you to enable goals as part of the review cycle in the cycle settings.
Here's how you can do the same -
Configuring Objectives in an Annual Review Cycle
Enabling Objectives
To include objectives in the review form:
- Go to the Review Form section.
- Select the reviewer type.
- Enable the Objectives section.
Choose a rating type (e.g., Performance, Potential) to evaluate progress.
To apply ratings, click Select Rating Scale and choose from predefined options (e.g., 5 Rating Scale, Design Review Scale, Development Review Scale).
Setting Evaluation Criteria
Objectives can be evaluated in two ways:
Rating with description—Reviewers give a score and feedback.
Description only—Reviewers provide feedback without a score.
- Single Select - Employees can choose one option from a predefined list.
You can add additional options by clicking the "+ Add Option" button.
Managing Objectives in the Review Form
Example Objective: Increase Quarterly Sales Revenue
- Goal: Achieve a 20% increase (72% progress)
- Sub-goals:
- Increase sales by 40% (52% completed)
- Increase sales by 30% (31% completed)
To refine evaluation:
- Select a timeframe (e.g., Q2 2024) to review objectives for a specific period.
- Enable Allow Reviewers to Rate Sub-goals (optional).
- Enable Auto-Populate Ratings to generate scores based on goal completion.
Allow employees to override auto-populated ratings if necessary.
Managing Rating Scales
Click Manage Rating Scale to define custom score brackets.
- You can also assign ratings based on percentage completion, e.g.,
- 80-100% → 5 (Highest)
- 60-80% → 4
40-60% → 3
And that's it. This is how Keka simplifies the process of incorporating goals within the review cycle, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of employees' performance. In case you have any more doubts, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team, who are always ready to help you out.
