Introduction
Keka's enhanced calibration tools help HR teams and managers ensure that performance ratings are fair, consistent, and aligned across departments. You can now:
Filter employees by Department, Job Title, Calibrator, and Calibration Status
Adjust previous ratings directly in a dedicated calibration modal.
Instantly see the impact of changes in a Pre vs. Post Calibration Bell Curve.
These improvements are designed to speed up the calibration process and add transparency to your performance review cycle.
Steps to Calibrate Employee Ratings with Filters and Bell Curve Comparison
Open the Calibration Modal
Go to Performance > Reviews.
In the review cycle, navigate to the Post Review Analysis stage. The pre-calibration curve is currently visible.
Go to the Calibration tab, filter by department, business unit, or manager, then click Calibrate.
The full-screen Calibration Modal will appear.
Use Filters to Narrow the List
Use the filter bar to refine the employee list:
Departments
Calibration Status
Job Title
Calibrators
You can:
Apply multiple filters at once using AND logic.
See badge counts for active filters.
Click Clear All to reset.
Search directly by employee name.
Filters remain active until you exit the modal.
Adjust Employee Ratings
Click Calibrate next to an employee’s final rating.
Click "Confirm" to proceed.
In the Calibrate Rating panel:
View the current Final Rating and Band.
Enter a new rating (e.g., 4.5/5).
Optionally, enter a reason for the change.
Reference the configured performance bands:
Band A: 0 - 1.67 (Low Performers)
Band B: 1.67 - 3.34 (Average Performers)
Band C: 3.34 - 5 (Top Performers)
Click Save to apply the change.
Ratings are auto-assigned to bands based on the thresholds.
Save or Finalise Calibration
Click Save as Draft to retain changes without finalising.
Click Finalise Calibration to complete the process.
Finalising will lock the ratings. Make sure all changes are reviewed before final submission.
Visualize Pre vs. Post Calibration Distribution
Go to the Review Analysis tab.
Select Bell Curve view.
The graph shows:
Ideal Bell Curve (black line)
Pre-calibration Curve (green area)
Post-calibration Curve (purple area)
Hover over each curve to see:
Employee count per rating band.
Percentage change.
Use the View Bands button to see rating distribution by band.
Click a bell curve segment to drill down into the list of employees in that rating band.
Options & Variants
Toggle bell curve views by Department, Organisation, or Calibration Group.
Use “Show calibrated ratings” checkbox to isolate only updated records.
Calibrators can be invited directly within the modal.
Export bell curves to include in leadership reports.

Notes & Tips
Tip: Use filters to quickly isolate employees who need review instead of scrolling through long lists.
Note: Performance bands auto-update based on the entered rating. No manual band selection is required.
Important: You must click Save after updating a rating for it to reflect in the bell curve.
Example Use Case
Scenario: A VP of Product has a rating of 3.34 (Band B - Average). After discussion, the calibration team updates it to 4.5, promoting the employee to Band C (Top Performers).
The change reflects in the bell curve immediately.
HR exports the curve for leadership review, showing the shift in performance distribution.
Troubleshooting
