What’s New
We’ve enhanced Off-Cycle Payroll to give payroll administrators more flexibility when processing payments outside the regular payroll cycle. These updates make it easier to handle ad-hoc payments such as bonuses, corrections, reimbursements, or payments to employees who were skipped in a regular payroll run.
Key updates in this release:
Flexible Off-Cycle Payroll Setup
Admins can now configure off-cycle payrolls with greater control by defining custom pay period start and end dates and pay day during setup. The configuration also allows admins to choose whether to use regular tax withholding or supplemental withholding rates, depending on the nature of the payment.
Selective Payee Processing
Payroll admins can select specific employees or contractors who should be included in the off-cycle payroll. Filters such as department and worker type help quickly identify relevant payees. Admins can also run an off-cycle payroll for employees who were skipped in a regular payroll cycle, ensuring they receive their payments without waiting for the next scheduled run.
Customisable Payroll Data
Admins can add and modify earnings for selected payees, including components such as regular pay, overtime, PTO, bonuses, commissions, tips, severance, and reimbursements. The system calculates amounts automatically for rate-based components, while allowing manual adjustments where required. Off-cycle payroll calculations are based on the employee’s current active compensation.
Payment Method Flexibility
Payment methods can now be updated for each payee during payroll processing. Supported options include Direct Deposit, Cash, and Paper Check. By default, employees with verified bank accounts will receive payments via Direct Deposit, while others will default to Cash or Paper Check.
Improved Payroll Visibility
Off-cycle payrolls are now clearly identified across the platform. Payroll listings, dashboards, and pay history pages include tags to distinguish regular and off-cycle payrolls, making it easier to track and review payroll runs.
Enhanced Activity Logs
Additional activity logs provide better visibility and audit tracking for actions such as creating or deleting off-cycle payrolls, adding or removing payees, updating payment methods, and changing supplemental tax calculation methods.
