Introduction
Admins can now send reward points to employees manually on an ad hoc basis, without waiting for pre-scheduled events like birthdays or anniversaries. This new feature in Keka’s Spot Rewards module helps organisations recognise efforts instantly and align rewards with internal policies or one-time achievements.
Who this is for: Admins and HR teams managing employee engagement and rewards.Steps to Manually Send Spot Reward Points to Employees
Go to the left sidebar and click Engage.
Click on the Rewards tab at the top.
Select Spot Rewards.

Click Adjust reward balance (top-right corner).

In the Give rewards panel:
- Click on Credit option.
Enter the reward value in points (e.g., 1000).
Add a reason for the reward (e.g., “Completion of IT Training”).

Under Select employees, choose one of the following:

Specific Employees: Search and select individuals manually.

Based on department, location, worker type: Use filters to auto-select a group.

Example filters:
Department: Customer Success > Data Analyst
Location: Bangalore

Worker Type: Permanent

Review the Reward summary section like points per employee, total number of employees selected and total points and currency value.

Click Credit [x] Keka Points to confirm and distribute the reward.
Filter Transactions by Type (All, Credit, or Debit)
You can also use the transaction filters to quickly view all reward activities or narrow down the list to only credit or debit transactions.
All Transactions
Displays both credit and debit reward transactions in a single list.
Provides a complete history of all reward activities for employees.
Helps admins track overall reward movement and balances in one view.
Credit Only
Shows only transactions where reward points were credited to employees.
Helps identify recognition or reward allocations given to employees.
Useful for tracking positive reward distributions and contributions.
Debit Only
Displays only transactions where reward points were deducted from employees.
Helps track redemptions, adjustments, or point deductions.
Useful for monitoring reward usage and balance reductions.
Options & Variants
You can choose how to distribute rewards:
To specific employees: Select individual names using the search box.

Department
Location
Worker type
These selections can be combined with AND/OR logic to fine-tune the list of recipients.

Important: The conversion rate from points to currency (e.g., 1000 Points = INR 50.00) is based on your org's configuration.Example Use Case
Scenario:
An employee completes IT training successfully. As an admin, you want to instantly reward this effort.
Go to Spot Rewards → Adjust Rewards
Enter 1000 points
Add reason: Completion of IT Training
Select employee Deepak Patil
Send the reward immediately
This encourages immediate recognition and boosts engagement.
Troubleshooting
