Overview:
We are excited to announce the launch of the Hours-Based Leave Accrual System in Keka’s Core HR module. This feature allows HR teams to define leave accrual policies based on actual hours worked, ensuring compliance with labor laws in industries with variable work hours like retail, manufacturing, and healthcare. By automating the accrual process, this update improves accuracy, reduces manual intervention, and enhances transparency for employees.
Key Features:
Configurable Hour-Based Accrual:
Admins can now define the accrual ratio (e.g., 1 hour of leave for every 20 hours worked), allowing for flexible and compliant leave accrual policies.
The system automatically calculates and updates leave balances based on the hours worked, streamlining HR processes.
Leave Type Specific Policies:
The accrual policy can be applied to specific leave types, allowing for different leave accrual rates for vacation, sick leave, etc.
This ensures compliance with company-specific or legal requirements for various leave categories.
Automatic and Real-Time Calculations:
Leave accruals are updated automatically based on work hours. The system calculates accrued leave on a daily basis, ensuring real-time data with a maximum 24-hour delay.
Hourly leave uses effective hours for accrual calculations, while day leave uses only working days for the calculation.
Employee Transparency:
Employees can view their leave balance, leave taken, and leave earned based on the hours they have worked.
Accrual logs are visible to employees, showing how leave was earned (e.g., the date, hours worked, and leave added).
Detailed Leave Breakdown:
Leave explanations now include a detailed breakdown of the hours or days worked that contributed to the accrual.
This provides clarity on how leave balances are calculated, improving transparency.
Reporting and Updates:
All leave reports are updated according to the real-time accruals, ensuring accurate data for payroll, audits, and compliance checks.
Benefits:
Compliance with Labor Laws: Ensures accurate leave accrual as per labor regulations that require leave to be based on hours worked, not fixed time periods.
Operational Efficiency: Reduces manual tracking and intervention, allowing HR teams to focus on more strategic tasks.
Transparency for Employees: Provides clear visibility into leave balances and accrual calculations, improving trust and satisfaction.
