Introduction
Some employees perform different roles, work at multiple locations, or take on shifts that require separate pay rates within a single pay period. Keka lets you configure multiple pay rates for such employees, ensuring each task or role is compensated accurately.
This feature is particularly useful for hourly and piece-based workers, providing payroll flexibility and role-based compensation.
Create Job Codes
Job codes are used to define and identify the different roles or tasks for which employees may be paid differently.
Go to Payroll > Settings.
In the Settings menu, click Job Codes.
In the pop-up that appears, click Add Job Code to create a new job code.
Enter the job code details and save.
Assign Job Codes to Employees
You can assign multiple pay rates to employees either through their profile or during onboarding.
Option 1: Assign from Employee Profile
Go to the Employee Directory and open the employee’s profile.
Navigate to the Finances section.
Click Pay Revisions.
Next to the relevant entry, click the three dots (⋮) and select Edit Pay.
In the Edit Pay window, click Add Pay Rate.
Assign job codes for each additional pay rate as needed.
Save your changes.
Option 2: Assign During Employee Onboarding (Pre-boarding)
While creating an employee offer, go to the Compensation section.
Click Add Pay Rate.
Assign job codes and define the corresponding pay details.
Save the compensation setup.
