A bonus is an extra amount of money added to an employee's salary as a reward. How much to pay and whether to pay it in full or in part is up to the employer.
There are situations where an employer may choose to pay a partial bonus — for example, when an employee meets only part of the performance metrics or when the company’s financial performance doesn’t meet expectations.
How to Pay a Bonus Amount Partially
Go to Payroll and click on Run Payroll.
If multiple pay groups are configured, select the appropriate Pay Group.
In the Run Payroll section, click on Bonus, Salary Revisions & Overtime.
In the Employee Salary Changes window, under Bonus, go to Pay Action.
Click on the drop-down and select Partially Pay.
Enter the amount or percentage of the bonus to be paid.
Choose what to do with the remaining balance — either Carry Forward or Void.
Add a note in the Comment Box and click Save & Continue.
