Strengthen Attendance Enforcement with Early Leaving Penalisation
Keka now supports Early Leaving Penalisation, allowing organisations to automatically penalise employees who leave before their scheduled shift end time.
Until now, Keka's penalisation engine supported:
- Late Arrivals
- Short Hours
- Missing Swipes
- No-Shows
However, employees who arrived on time and completed the required work hours could still leave before their scheduled shift end without triggering a penalty in certain scenarios.
With this release, organisations can now configure dedicated rules for early departures, ensuring more accurate attendance enforcement and policy compliance.
What's New?
Dedicated Early Leaving Penalisation Method
A new penalisation method, Early Leaving, is now available under Attendance Penalisation Policies.
This allows administrators to independently track and penalise employees who leave before their scheduled shift end time.
Flexible Penalisation Rules
Administrators can configure penalties based on:
Number of Early Leaving Instances
Apply penalties when employees exceed a specified number of early leaving occurrences.
Total Early Leaving Hours
Apply penalties when employees accumulate a defined number of early leaving hours.
Grace Period Configuration
To prevent penalties for minor deviations, administrators can configure:
- Early leaving grace minutes
- Grace exemptions per week
- Grace exemptions per month
This helps ensure employees are not penalised for insignificant timing differences.
Leave Deduction Rules
Configure automatic leave deductions such as:
For every X days of early leaving, deduct Y days of leave.
The system automatically evaluates and applies the configured penalties.
Effective Hours-Based Exceptions
Organisations can choose not to penalise employees if they complete:
- Required Effective Hours, or
- Required Gross Hours
even if they leave before shift end.
This helps accommodate policies where overall work duration is prioritised over exact logout times.
Missing Logs Support
The system can also consider cases where early leaving is caused by incomplete attendance logs and apply penalties according to policy configuration.
Combined Penalisation Control
Administrators can define how penalties are handled when employees exceed both:
- Early leaving instances, and
- Total early leaving hours
Options include:
- Apply only one penalty
- Apply both penalties
Automatic Evaluation and Enforcement
Once configured, Keka automatically:
- Detects early leaving events
- Calculates total early leaving hours
- Applies grace rules
- Evaluates policy thresholds
- Processes leave deductions
No manual tracking or intervention is required.
