If employees generate multiple punch logs throughout the day, Keka can be configured to ignore all intermediate punches and consider only the earliest punch-in and the latest punch-out for attendance processing.
Navigation
Time attend > Settings > General > Under Attendance tracking settings enable First Clock-in Last Clock-out
When the First In, Last Out setting is enabled:
- The first punch of the day is treated as the employee's check-in time.
- The last punch of the day is treated as the employee's check-out time.
- Any punches recorded between these two punches are ignored for attendance calculations.
- Working hours, attendance status, overtime calculations, and payroll processing are based only on the first in-punch and last out-punch.
This configuration is useful for organisations where employees may punch multiple times during the day for breaks, meetings, or other activities, but only the total time between the first entry and final exit should be considered for attendance and payroll calculations.
Example
| Punch Log | Time |
|---|---|
| In | 09:00 AM |
| Out | 01:00 PM |
| In | 01:45 PM |
| Out | 06:00 PM |
With First In, Last Out enabled, Keka considers:
- Check-in: 09:00 AM
- Check-out: 06:00 PM
The intermediate punches (01:00 PM and 01:45 PM) are ignored for attendance calculation.
