Step 1: Add Shift Allowance Codes
- Navigate to Time Attend > Shift/Weekly Offs & Holidays.
- Under the Shift Allowance section, go to Shift Allowance Code.
- Click on +Add Shift Allowance Code.
- In the new window, provide a Name for the allowance code and an optional Description.
- Select a Pay Code, which will be used to define the compensation rate.
- Enter the Formula for calculating the allowance amount. You can use salary components by selecting them from the list.

*for multiplication,/for division, and square brackets[]for components like [CTC]). Follow the BODMAS order of operations for the formula.

- Click Add to save the allowance code.
Step 2: Create a Shift Allowance Policy
- Go to the Shift Allowance Policy section and click on +Add Shift Allowance Policy.
- Provide a Name for the policy and an optional Description.
- Choose if the policy should be applied based on:
- Clock-in Timing of employees.
- Shift worked by employees.
- If applying based on clock-in timing, you can exclude employees with flexible shift schedules or if they are not completing a certain percentage of their assigned gross hours.
- Click Save to create and apply the shift allowance policy.
Now you have a shift allowance code and policy set up to compensate employees based on their shift schedules.
