Why is the payslip marked 'provisional'?

A Provisional Payslip appears when the payroll for a particular month has not yet been finalized. It acts as a preview of the salary details before final processing.

How to Check the Payslip Status

1. Go to the Payroll tab on your Keka portal.

2. Click on Run Payroll.

3. Check the Payroll Processing Status — if it shows Pending, the payslip will appear as Provisional.

   

4. You can verify this by opening the employee’s profile and viewing their payslip — it will be marked as Provisional Payslip.

   

Important Notes

• If the payroll status is Pending, the payslip remains Provisional.

• A Provisional Payslip is generated only when you perform a Preview Run Payroll.

• It is visible only to the Global Admin and/or Payroll Admin.
