How to Override Visibility Settings While Creating an Announcement in Keka

Need to broadcast an update to everyone—across business units, locations, or legal entities—without being limited by visibility settings?

Keka gives Global Admins the ability to override default audience restrictions using the “Ignore visibility restrictions” feature when creating announcements. This ensures critical communication reaches all employees, instantly.

Enable Announcement Visibility Override

This feature is only visible to Global Admins. When enabled, it allows announcements to bypass usual filters such as BU, location, or legal entity—making the message visible to the entire organisation.

Go to the Announcements Section

1. Navigate to Engage from the left menu.

2. Click on Announcements.

3. Select Create Announcement (top-right corner).

   

Draft the Announcement

1. Enter the Title and Description.

2. Choose the announcement Type:

   • General – Informational or internal updates

   • Event – Celebrations, milestones, or activities

3. Attach files or images if required.

   
    

Configure & Publish

1. Click Configure & Publish to define how and when the announcement is delivered.

   
   

2. In the Publish Settings window, you can configure the settings accordingly: 

Audience

Choose one of the following:

• All Employees

• Selected Groups

• Selected Employees 

Additional Settings

• Notify via email – Send instant email alerts to selected audience.

• Publish Later – Pick a future publish date.

• Closing Date – Set a date to hide the announcement after a set time.

3. After configuring your settings, click Publish to make your announcement live. If you’d like to save your progress and return later, click Save Settings to store your changes for future editing and publishing.

   No, audience selection is fixed once the announcement is published. To change it, you’ll need to un publish and recreate.
