A probation policy helps organizations assess an employee's performance during a specified period, ensuring they fit both culturally and competently. This policy is essential for evaluating new hires before confirming their permanent employment.

How to Create a Probation Policy
Go to Org in the left navigation pane.
Select Employees and click on the Probation tab.
Under Probation Policy, click + Create Probation Policy.

In the pop-up, fill in the following details:
Name of the policy
Description
Probation Period Duration (Days/Weeks/Months)
Maximum Extension (optional) — specify how many times probation can be extended, or enter 0 for no extensions allowed.
Assigning Probation to Employees
1st Way: Assigning to a Single Employee Manually
Search for the employee's name using the Global Search Bar.
Go to the Job tab in the employee’s profile.

In the Job Details section, click the pen icon next to Date or Default Probation Policy.
To update the probation end date, click the pen icon next to the Date, select the new date, and choose the probation status from the dropdown. Click Update to save.
To assign the probation policy, click the pen icon next to Default Probation Policy, select the probation policy from the dropdown, add any comments, and click Update.
2nd Way: Bulk Assigning Probation
Go to Org and then click on the Dashboard tab.
In the Summary section, locate Quicklinks and select Import Employee Job Details.

You will be redirected to the Bulk Import page. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Download the Excel Template.
Step 2: Fill in the necessary data in the template, including the probation details.
Step 3: Upload the filled Excel file.
Once uploaded, the probation policy will be assigned to the employees in bulk.
Note: Only employees with the required details in the uploaded sheet will have the probation policy applied.
That’s it! You’ve successfully created and assigned a Probation Policy in Keka.
