Introduction
Not all leaves are planned ahead—sometimes employees need to apply for time off after they’ve returned to work. If your organization permits this, you can configure backdated (past-dated) leave settings in Keka.
This article explains how to enable or restrict employees from applying for past-dated leave based on your policy.
Enable or restrict backdated leave application
Go to Time Attend from the left-hand panel.
Click on Leave, then select Leave Plans.
Choose the relevant Leave Plan, then click on the Leave Type you want to configure.
Click on the three-dot menu under Actions and select Update.
In the new settings window:
Click on Leave Application.
Go to Leave Application Rules.
Choose your rule:
To restrict backdated leave, check the box:
Limit backdated leave applicationsThen specify how many days in the past an employee can apply.
To restrict application before a specific day of the past-dated leave, use:
Prevent applying back-dated leave before __ daySelect the cutoff date from the dropdown.
Once done, click Save & Continue, then Save & Close to apply the settings.
Important Notes
Important: These settings apply to all employees assigned to the selected leave plan. You cannot set leave application rules at an individual level.
Tip: Keep employees informed of backdated leave rules to avoid rejected requests.
