Setting up Project Health Tracking

What does "project health" mean?

Project health encompasses the overall status and advancement of a project, evaluating its performance, success in meeting objectives, and compliance with timelines. This assessment is crucial for project managers and stakeholders, as it offers valuable insights into the current state of the project, identifies potential risks, and highlights areas that may require additional focus or intervention.

How does it work?

Keka PSA features a flexible system of parameters and status questions that project managers can customize to assess the project's overall health and progress. For example, one parameter might pertain to the project's "Budget," allowing the project manager to categorize its status as "At risk" or "Good" based on current conditions.

Additionally, you can create status questions related to the project's health, such as "What is the bottleneck?" These questions can be updated regularly to reflect the latest information.

By leveraging these customizable parameters and questions, you can actively monitor potential issues, make well-informed decisions, and significantly increase the chances of project success.

To establish the necessary project health parameters and status questions, first, access the Project section (1) of the Keka portal. Next, proceed to Policies & Settings (2) and select the Project Health (3) tab to begin your setup.

To begin adding Project Health Parameters, navigate to the Project Health Parameters section and click on the "+Add Health Parameter" button.

A window titled "Add Project Health Parameter" will appear, prompting you to enter the name of the Health Parameter. The system will automatically assign a corresponding code for this parameter. Additionally, you have the option to include a description by clicking on "+ Add Description." After filling in all the necessary fields, simply click on the "Add" button to save your changes.

You can also include Status Questions by selecting the "+Add Question" option.

A field will appear for you to enter the status question. After typing in your question, simply click on the 'tick icon' under Action to save it.

After you have added all the necessary parameters and status questions, you can click on the Preview option to view how these elements will be displayed to project managers when they update the information for any project.
