We're introducing Bulk Import Overtime Requests, enabling HR admins and managers to import overtime entries for multiple employees in a single file instead of creating overtime requests one employee at a time.
What's New?
Bulk Import Overtime Entries
Users can now upload overtime requests through a structured Excel template containing employee and overtime details.
Support for Multiple Overtime Entry Models
The import supports:
- Day-wise overtime entries (single date)
- Cumulative overtime entries (date range with total overtime hours)
Built-in Validation
The system validates imported records and:
- Rejects rows with blocking errors
- Flags rows with warnings
- Allows valid rows to continue processing
Safe Re-Import
Failed rows can be corrected and re-uploaded without duplicating overtime requests that have already been imported successfully.
Approval Workflow Integration
Imported entries are automatically created as Pending Approval overtime requests and continue through the existing approval process.
Key Benefits
- Eliminates manual employee-by-employee overtime entry
- Reduces payroll processing delays
- Improves overtime data accuracy
- Supports real-world manufacturing and blue-collar workflows
- Enables faster month-end payroll processing
Access Control
The Import Overtime Requests action is available only to users with the:
Apply for overtime (OT) on behalf of employees
permission.
Important Notes
- Bulk import creates overtime requests; it does not auto-approve them.
- Existing approval workflows remain unchanged.
- Valid rows are processed even if some rows fail validation.
- Failed rows are available for correction and re-upload.
- Imported overtime requests are created in Pending Approval state.
