Overview
Job Architecture now supports Job Families and Career Paths as part of a premium add-on. Admins can group roles by the nature of work, create sub-families, and design clear, visual career paths—so employees understand progression and role expectations stay consistent across teams. This brings structure to progression, improves visibility for employees, and centralises role governance for admins.
What’s New
Job Architecture as an Add-On
Job Architecture is available only for customers who purchase it.
The feature remains hidden unless enabled at the tenant/subscription level.
If disabled, Org Structure shows only Org Units (Job Architecture tabs are not visible).
Create Job Families and Sub-Families
Admins can now build a structured family hierarchy to reflect real org design.
+ Create Job Family action available.
Required fields: Name and Description.
Families appear in left-hand navigation for easy access.
Families can be renamed or archived.
Create sub-families nested under a family (e.g., Engineering → Frontend/Backend/QA).
Sub-families inherit global attributes with the ability to override where applicable.
Job Family Tabs for End-to-End Management
Each Job Family includes dedicated tabs to manage growth structure and visibility:
Career Path tab
Create multiple career paths within a family (e.g., “Frontend Path”)
Career paths are built as sequential levels tied to job titles
Validations and warnings included:
Career levels must progress logically (no incorrect ordering).
Skipping levels flagged (e.g., IC1 → IC3).
Reusing titles across paths flagged with warnings.
Career Path Builder with Visual Progression
Admins can build structured career paths using career levels and job titles.
+ Add Career Path action available
Each step in a path = Career Level + Job Title
Key validations:
Levels must follow order (IC1 → IC2 → IC3).
Same title cannot be assigned to multiple levels within the same path.
Path must start at the lowest available level.
Lateral moves supported (e.g., IC3 → M1).
Visual career path view (Admin + Employee)
Career paths displayed as cards connected by arrows.
Arrows indicate forward progression.
Job Titles View Inside Job Families
The Job titles tab within a job family provides a consolidated view of titles mapped to that family.
Includes key indicators like:
Role level mapping (where applicable).
Years of experience Skills and responsibilities counts.
Admins can open View Details to see job title expectations in a side panel (experience, responsibilities, skills with expected ratings and weightage).
Multi-Track Career Growth Support
Job families can support parallel paths so employees can choose how they grow.
Example: Engineering → IC path and Managerial path within the same family.
Validation Alerts to Prevent Inconsistent Structures
The system warns admins when setup issues are detected, including:
Broken level order.
Incorrect duplicate title usage.
Employees present in a family without an assigned career level.
Why This Matters
Creates a clean structure to organise roles through families and sub-families.
Makes progression transparent through visual, structured career paths.
Helps employees make informed growth choices via multi-track pathways.
Reduces inconsistencies with built-in validations and alerts.
Centralises governance through family-level tabs for titles and employee distribution under Org → Job Architecture.
