Introduction
The Sandwich Policy applies when an employee’s leave is adjacent to a week off or holiday, meaning the week off or holiday will also be treated as part of the leave. Additionally, you can configure No Attendance Penalization for instances when there’s no attendance on a date adjoining a holiday or week off.
This guide will show you how to configure both of these policies in Keka.
Configure Sandwich Policy for No Attendance
From the left-hand panel, select Time Attend > Attendance Tracking.
Under Penalisation Policy, select the policy you want to configure.
Go to the Versions section where you’ll see different tracking policy versions.
Click the Edit Icon next to the latest version to modify it.
In the page, under Effective From, select a current or future date (you cannot choose a past date).
Click Save to apply the date.
On the No Attendance page, toggle the switch to enable this option.
You can specify how many leave days will be deducted for every day of no attendance.
Enable Sandwich Policy for Adjoining Days:
Enable the following options:
Penalise adjoining holiday if there are X or more days of no attendance.
Penalise adjoining week-off if there are X or more days of no attendance.
Once you’ve set your preferences, click Save to apply the changes.
Notes, Tips, Important, Warnings
Tip: Be sure to review your leave policies to ensure that penalties for adjoining holidays and week-offs are consistent with your organization's overall attendance policies.
Important: These settings will apply to all employees under the selected penalisation policy. Make sure the policy aligns with your internal rules and guidelines.
