Introduction
Overtime refers to the extra hours an employee works beyond their regular schedule. Whether or not these hours are paid depends on your organization’s payroll policy and applicable labor laws.
In Keka, overtime must be recorded through time entries to ensure accurate calculation and compensation. Many companies also require manager approval before overtime pay is processed.
This guide walks you through how to apply for overtime in Keka.
Applying for overtime
Go to the Me section on the Keka portal.
Click on Attendance.
Select Overtime Requests from the menu.
Click the Request Overtime button.
In the request window:
Select the Date you worked overtime. If your company policy allows, you can also pick a future date.
Enter the Number of Overtime Hours worked.
(Optional) Add a Note explaining the reason for working overtime—this will be visible to the approver.
(Optional) Select an employee to Notify about your request, or leave this blank.
Click Request to submit the overtime request.
Options & Variants
Your organization may allow overtime to be applied in advance (future date).
The request may go through an approval workflow before being counted for payroll.
Notes
Important: Submitting an overtime request does not guarantee payment. It must comply with your organization’s policy and may require approval.
