Streamlining Project and Opportunity Creation: Introducing Approval Flows

We're excited to announce a new feature that enhances the project and opportunity creation process by introducing approval workflows. This feature empowers organizations to establish control over project and opportunity initiation, ensuring that only authorized individuals can create new projects and opportunities.

Benefits

  • Enhanced Control: Ensure only authorized individuals can create new projects and opportunities.
  • Improved Governance: Maintain consistency and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Streamlined Workflow: Streamline the project and opportunity creation process.
  • Increased Accountability: Track the approval history for each project and opportunity.

Key Components

1. Setting Up Approval Chains

  • Navigate to Settings: Navigate to Policies and Settings, then select Approval Chain and choose either Project or Opportunity.

  • Enable Approvals: Select the checkbox for "Does the Project creation require approval" or "Does the Opportunity creation require approval."
  • Configure Approvers: Define the approval chain by adding approvers based on roles or names.
  • Set Auto-Approval (Optional): Enable auto-approval if no action is taken within a specified timeframe.

Upon completing these steps, the setup for the 'Project or Opportunity approval chain' will be finalized.

2. Project or Opportunity Creation Requests

  • Initiate Request: When creating a new project or opportunity, a request will be generated if approval is required.

Navigate to the Projects section and click on the option to create a new project.

3. Taking Action on Requests

View Requests: Pending requests can be viewed in the respective tabs:
  • Navigate to the Projects section, click on Projects List, and then select Pending Requests. From there, look for the specific source name and click on the approve option.

    • Opportunities: Proceed in a similar manner for Opportunities as well.
  • Review and Approve/Reject: Review pending requests and take appropriate action.
  • Track Status: Monitor the status of requests, which can be "Pending," "Partially Approved," or "Approved."

By implementing approval workflows, organizations can establish a more structured and controlled environment for project and opportunity initiation.
