How to Enable Potential Ratings for Reviewers in Employee Assessments?

Providing potential ratings is a critical feature in employee reviews, allowing reviewers to assess not just current performance but also future growth and capabilities.

Here's how you can set up and enable potential ratings for reviewers in your system:

1. Configure the Review Form

  1. Open the review form.
  2. Locate the "Configure from Order and Potential Ratings" (1) option at the top-right corner of the form.
  3. Click on it to access the settings.

2. Enable Potential Ratings

  1. You will have the option to enable reviewers to assign potential ratings for Questions, Goals, Competencies, Core Values, Projects, and Skills while they complete the review form.

  2. Within the settings, toggle the option "Allow reviewers to provide potential ratings."(2)
  3. Click Save (3) to apply these changes.

3. Assign Potential Ratings to Specific Sections

Once potential ratings are enabled globally, you can configure them for individual review components such as:

  • Questions
  • Goals
  • Competencies
  • Core Values
  • Projects
  • Skills

For each component:

  1. Navigate to the relevant section (e.g., Goals, Competencies).
  2. Select the specific timeframe for which you want to enable potential ratings.
  3. Assign the appropriate reviewers to the section and complete the response type. 
  4. In the Ratings Type field, you will see options for Performance and Potential.
  5. Select Potential to allow reviewers to provide ratings based on growth potential.

     

4. Configuring Potential Ratings for Goals

In the Goals section:

  1. Select the specific timeframe for which you want to enable potential ratings.
  2. Choose the reviewer who will assess the goal.
  3. Complete the response type settings as required.
  4. In the ratings type dropdown, select Potential.
  5. Save your changes.

Repeat this process for all relevant goals.

5. Extend Potential Ratings to Other Sections

Follow the same approach as above to enable potential ratings for:

  1. Competencies
  2. Core Values
  3. Projects
  4. Skills

Ensure reviewers have access to the updated review form and understand how to use the potential ratings feature.

In the same manner, you can grant reviewers the ability to assign potential ratings in the other sections as illustrated in the screen below.
