Overview
Keka's new event triggers and inbox approval features simplify the management of skill-related updates across the organization. By configuring these triggers, organizations can automatically inform stakeholders about any changes to employees’ skill profiles.
How to Access Event Triggers
To enable or customize these notifications, navigate to Settings > Communications > Event Triggers > Performance. From here, admins can activate, edit, or assign recipients to each trigger as needed.
Key Event Triggers for Skill Profiles
These triggers send email notifications to relevant stakeholders, keeping everyone updated about any skill-related changes. Here are the available event triggers:
Employee Skill Approval
This feature alerts approvers to any changes made to an employee’s skill profile that require their action. To enable or customize this notifications, navigate to Settings > Communications > Event Triggers > Performance.
To enable the Employee Skill Approval notifications, simply toggle the option for Employee Skill Approval and confirm your selection. This ensures that designated approvers will receive timely email notifications, prompting them to respond quickly.
When you select the Employee Skill Approval option, a dialog window will appear, providing you with options to Edit, Disable, or Delete the notification settings as necessary.
Once you click on Edit, you can enter a name for the email notification, add relevant employees, specify the subject line, and compose the message body. After making the necessary adjustments, click on Update to save your changes. You also have the option to include additional employees in the CC and BCC fields.
Employee Skill Assigned
This notification informs employees whenever a new skill is added to their profile, confirming the update through an email notification. To enable or customize this notifications, navigate to Settings > Communications > Event Triggers > Performance.
To enable the Employee Skill Assigned notifications, simply toggle the option for Employee Skill Assigned and confirm your selection. This ensures that designated approvers will receive timely email notifications about employee skill assigned against their profile.

Skill Certifications Added
When an employee adds a certificate associated with an assigned skill, the reporting manager will receive an email notification to verify the new certification. To enable or customize this notifications, navigate to Settings > Communications > Event Triggers > Performance.
To enable the Skill Certifications Added notifications, simply toggle the option for Skill Certifications Added and confirm your selection. This ensures that designated approvers will receive timely email notifications about employee skill certificate added against their profile.

All event triggers come with pre-configured email templates that can be customized by administrators to match the organization's communication style, including the ability to adjust recipient lists as needed.
Inbox-Based Skill Update Approvals
Additionally, inbox-based approval now allows managers and admins to take swift action on skill updates directly from their inboxes. Approvers no longer need to navigate to specific sections to approve skill updates. With inbox-based skill approvals, managers and admins can:
- Approve or reject skill requests directly from their inbox, reducing navigation time.
- It also streamlines the approval process by having requests front and center in their inbox, enabling faster, more efficient skill profile management.
These features enhance workflow efficiency by keeping necessary actions within easy reach and providing instant, relevant notifications for every skill profile update.
