In Keka PSA, a task represents a specific unit of work with a clear deadline, contributing to the project's overall goals. By adding multiple tasks to a project, you can streamline operations and ensure timely completion. Here’s a step-by-step guide to adding tasks to your projects in Keka.
Steps to Add Tasks to a Project
1. Navigate to the Projects Section
- Go to Projects (1) in the main navigation bar. Select Projects (2) to view the Project List. Under Active Projects, you’ll see a list of all ongoing projects in Keka. Click on the desired Project Name (3) where you want to add the task.
2. Access the Tasks Tab
- Once inside the project details page, go to the Tasks (4) tab. Click on Add Task (5) to create a new task.
3. Fill in Task Details
In the Create Task window, provide the following information:
- Task Name: Specify a unique name for the task.
- Stage: Define the stage of the task (optional).
- Phase: Assign it to a specific phase of the project (if applicable).
- Estimated Hours: Input the estimated time required for task completion.
- Billing Type: Choose the billing type for the task.
- Duration: Set the task’s start and end dates.
- Assignees: Assign employees to the task, especially if the project restricts timesheet logging to assigned users.
Click Save (6) to add the task to the project.
4. Add Tasks Within the Same Phase
- Use the Add option beside existing tasks to add new tasks within the same project phase.
5. Import Tasks Using Templates
If you have pre-configured task templates:
- Click on Import from Template in the dropdown beside the Add Task button. Select a template from the available options under Select Template. Check the boxes for the specific tasks you want to include (7). Click Next (8) to proceed.
6. Preview and Finalize Imported Tasks
- In the Preview Template tab, review the selected tasks.
- Set the Duration (9) for each task. Assign Teammates (10) if required. Click Save (11) to add the tasks to the project.
