How can an employee change the tax regime?
The Income Tax laws in India allow taxpayers to choose between the Old and the New Tax Regimes. Which one is beneficial for a particular taxpayer depends on many factors linked to their income and expenditure. At times, a taxpayer might want to move from one regime to the other due to changes in the status of their income and expenditure. The prevailing law provides such taxpayers with a chance for switching when they are making the IT filing.
To change your current tax regime, go to the My Finances (1) menu. Click on My Pay (2) and then on Income Tax (3). Under the Income Tax Computation section, find the click here (4) option and click on it.
On the new window that opens, click on the option Switch to New Tax Regime / Switch to Old Tax Regime button. And you are done!
