How does the goal/KRA alignment work?

Goals/KRA Alignment refers to the process of connecting your KRA to higher-level objectives within the company, department, or individual objectives.

For organizations, alignment is about ensuring that everyone is working towards the same end Goal/KRA. Keka's Goal/KRA module enables departments and individuals to align their Goal/KRA to the company Goal/KRA, as that enables everyone to work towards a common Goal/KRA.

For example, imagine a software development company that has set a company-wide Goal/KRA of boosting its annual revenue by 20%. To achieve this Goal/KRA, various departments and individuals must align their Goal/KRA accordingly. The sales department may set a Goal/KRA to close 30% more deals, while the marketing team aims to generate 40% more qualified leads.

Using Keka's Goal/KRA module, these departmental Goals/KRA can be aligned with the company's primary Goal/KRA of increasing annual revenue. Furthermore, individual employees within each department can create individual Goals/KRA tied to their department's Goals/KRA. A salesperson might set a target to upsell existing clients, while a marketer could focus on optimizing a specific marketing channel for better lead generation. By aligning everyone's Goal/KRA in this manner, the entire organization stays focused on the shared end Goal/KRA of increasing revenue, ensuring that each team and individual's efforts contribute effectively to achieving the overall Goal/KRA.

Why is alignment important in achieving our Goal/KRA and producing results?

  1. Clear direction: If employees are unclear about their organization's broader Goal/KRA, they may feel disoriented and uncertain about how their contributions impact the company positively. To provide employees with a sense of direction and motivation, it is important to establish transparent company/department-wide Goals/KRA.
  2. Better resource allocation: Alignment helps organizations allocate their resources more efficiently by ensuring that their efforts and investments are focused on the most critical priorities.
  3. Faster decision-making: Alignment helps organizations streamline the decision-making process by ensuring everyone is working with the same set of priorities and Goal/KRA.
