In today’s dynamic work environment, the roles of managers and administrators are pivotal in shaping and guiding the career paths of their teams. Effectively managing these paths requires a deep understanding of the specific needs of each department. By aligning individual aspirations with organizational goals, managers can create and maintain career tracks that foster both personal and professional growth.
Understanding Departmental Needs
The first step in managing career paths is understanding the unique requirements of each department. This includes identifying key skills, competencies, and growth opportunities that align with the company’s strategic objectives. By doing so, managers can tailor career paths to meet both the immediate needs of the organization and the long-term ambitions of their employees.
Navigate to the Performance section and click on Manage Paths. A window will appear, displaying all existing career paths organized by department.
Select the desired career track from the list. Click Edit to modify the career path.
After clicking "Edit," you'll be redirected to a screen where you can update the created career track and then click Update to save your changes.
Click on any role, and then click Edit if you want to modify the responsibilities and skills associated with that role.
This edit is not only available to the department head but also to the global admin and HR manager.
Here, you can adjust the different roles and responsibilities to better align with evolving departmental needs.
Now to Create a new career path, click on the + Add Path option to create a new career path.Enter a name for the new path and assign roles at various levels according to the structure you want to implement. Once all roles and levels are added, click Create to finalize the new career path.
Admins can define, assign, and manage career tracks by job title and department, with options to edit, clone, delete, and view activity logs.
By actively supporting team development through regular check-ins, performance reviews, and opportunities for skill enhancement, managers ensure their teams are on the right career path and well-equipped for success.
