Managing sick leave payments in compliance with GCC countries' regulations is essential for organizations. Keka’s platform allows you to configure sick leave policies specific to each GCC country, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and supporting employee welfare.
To set up sick leave payment for your paygroup, start by going to the payroll(1) tab in the menu on the left. Once there, choose the GCC country from the countries(2) tab. If you do not have multiple paygroups with Keka, you can directly go to the settings(3) tab and click on Sick Leave Payment(4).
Once you are on the page you will see an option to Enable Sick Leave Payment.
In the next screen you have to enable rules for the sick leave payment by using the toggle button.
After you enable the rules for sick leave you can set the pay percentages based on the number of sick leave days taken. These rules are predefined based on the UAE labor law but can be customized according to your organization’s requirements.
When configuring sick leave payment rules in Keka, it's essential to select the appropriate components of the salary that will be considered for the calculation. The components typically included for salary calculation are:
- Basic Salary
- House Rent Allowance
- Special Allowance
Additional components which you have created can also be included based on the organization's policy
After configuring the rules, click Save to apply these settings.
