Learn how to restrict probationary employees from applying for any type of leave in Keka HRMS. Customize leave policies for better probation management.
A probation period is a defined time as per the company's policy under which an employee is not yet considered a permanent employee and is exempt from certain contractual items. An employee under a probation period might not receive paid leave and other benefits of a permanent employee.
Let us take a look at the path from where we can restrict an employee from applying for leaves during probation -
Go to the Time Attend (1) section, and click on Leave (2), then you will be directed to Leave Plans (3).
Now, select the Leave Plan (1) and select the particular leave type under which you want to restrict employees on Probation from applying for leave then click on the three dots beside the name of the leave type, and click on settings (2).
Once you click on the Settings option, a window will open. Go to Probation (3) and then click on Leave Application for Probation (4). Check the option Minimum ____ days of leave is allowed during probation (5). Set the value to zero (0) and click on Save and Continue (6).
If you want the employee to apply for a certain number of days of leave during probation, please enter the value in the blank field: Minimum ____ days of leave is allowed during probation. This will allow the employee to apply for leave during probation for the specified number of days.
