How to restrict an employee in notice period from applying for leave?
In organizations, distinct leave plans are established for various employee groups based on factors like department and location. However, when an employee is in their notice period, the organization may need to limit their ability to request leaves. Keka offers administrators the feature to restrict employees serving notice periods from applying for any type of leave.
Let us take a look at the path to restrict an employee from applying for leave during notice period -
Go to the Time Attend (1) section, and click on Leave (2). You will be directed to Leave Plans (3).
Now select the Leave Plan (If there are multiple) & navigate to the leave type under which you want to restrict employees in notice period from applying for leave. Then click on the three dots (1), and click on settings (2) of the leave type.
Now, you'll be redirected to the leave configuration window. Navigate to the option Notice Period (1), and then click on Leave Application for Notice Period (2). You have to uncheck the option that says "Leave taken in notice period will extend by ___ times for each leave availed". Once done, click on Save Changes (3), and the settings would be saved.
Now, employees will not be able to apply for leave while serving their notice period.
We hope that you now have a better understanding of how to restrict an employee in notice period from applying for leave on Keka.
