How to prorate leave for an employee on date of joining?
Prorating leave means that employees are only entitled to a proportionate amount of leave based on the number of days they have worked in the current leave year. This ensures that new employees are not unfairly advantaged or disadvantaged in comparison to existing employees who have worked for the organization for a longer period.
To configure the settings for prorating leave on the date of joining, navigate to Time Attend (1), then go to Leave (2), and under Leave Plans (3) you will see all the leave plans configured for your organization.
Select the relevant leave plan and find the Leave Type you want to make prorated. Click on the three dots next to View and click Settings.
This will open a new window. In the Probation (1) section, go to Accrual for Probation. To prorate leave based on the date of joining, you must enable the "Prorate leave in the 1st month of joining based on (2) " option. Once enabled, you have two choices: you can either choose accrual from the date of joining, or if it falls within a specific range of dates in the month, you can select the Range of date of joining and set the leave accrual accordingly.
After making all the configurations, click on Save Changes (3) and then you can exit the window.
