Leave & Attendance FAQs

How to allow employees to apply leave for next calendar year?

At the end of the leave year, it is a standard practice for companies to recalculate leaves to ensure that all leave-related information, including lapses, encashments, and carry-forward balances, is accurate and up-to-date.

Now, if you want your employees to be able to apply for leave in the upcoming calendar year, there's just one setting you need to check in the leave type configurations. Let's dive into the steps on how to do it.

Go to the Time Attend(1) section of the Keka Portal, and click on Leave (2) and under this, make sure that you are on Leave Plans (3)

Here, select the Leave Plan (1) (If you have multiple) then click on the three dots (3) beside leave type (2) (the leave you want the employees to be able to apply for the next year) and click on Settings (4).

The leave configuration page will now open. Click on Leave Application (1) and select the Leave Application Restrictions (2) section where you will find the option "Employee cannot request leave with future dated leave based on expected accrual" (3). Uncheck this option to allow employees to apply for leave for the next calendar year. Finally, click on Save Changes (4) and exit the screen.

Now the employees in this leave plan will be able to apply this leave type for future date, including the next calendar year.
