Introduction
Employee feedback becomes significantly more valuable when you can understand not just what employees think, but which groups of employees share those views.
Keka now supports Job Title and Reporting Manager as filtering dimensions across Survey and Pulse reports. These additional filters help administrators analyse engagement and feedback through organisational roles and reporting structures, making it easier to identify trends, benchmark teams, and take targeted action.
This article explains how to use the new Job Title and Reporting Manager filters in Surveys and Pulse.

Understanding the New Filters
Job Title
The Job Title filter allows you to analyse report data based on employee roles.
Examples include:
- Software Engineer
- Product Manager
- HR Executive
- Sales Manager
Using Job Title filtering can help identify engagement patterns and feedback trends across different roles within the organisation.
Reporting Manager
The Reporting Manager filter allows you to analyse responses from employees reporting directly to a selected manager.
Reporting Manager filtering includes direct reports only. This helps administrators:
- Understand team-level sentiment.
- Compare engagement across managers.
- Identify opportunities for manager-specific interventions.
Using Job Title and Reporting Manager Filters in Surveys
Accessing Survey Filters
- Navigate to Engage and click on Surveys.
Open the required survey.
- Select either:
- Summary, or
- Responses.
The filter bar now includes:
- Job Title
- Reporting Manager
Alongside, there are also existing filters such as Department, Location, Tenure, Gender, Age, and Worker Type.
Applying Filters
- Click Job Title or Reporting Manager.
- Select one or more values.
- Add additional filters if required.
- Click Apply.
The report updates to display data matching all selected criteria.
Example
You can filter results for:
- Job Title = Software Engineer
- Location = Bengaluru
- Reporting Manager = John Smith
The report will display data that satisfies all selected conditions.
Multi-Select Support
Both filters support multiple selections.
For example:
Job Title
- Software Engineer
- Senior Software Engineer
- Engineering Manager
Reporting Manager
- Manager A
- Manager B
The selected values are combined with any other active filters.
Clearing Filters
To remove a filter:
- Open the filter dropdown.
- Clear the selected values.
- Click Apply.
The report returns to the default, unfiltered view.
Using Job Title and Reporting Manager Filters in Pulse
The same filtering experience is available within Pulse reports.
Accessing Pulse Filters
- Navigate to Engage and click on Pulse.
- Open the desired Pulse report.
The following areas support the new filters:
- Engagement Score
- Employee Pulse Scores
- Metric Breakdowns
Example Use Cases
Role-Based Analysis
Filter by Job Title to:
- Compare engagement across roles.
- Analyse how different functions perceive workplace initiatives.
Identify role-specific trends.
Manager-Based Analysis
Filter by Reporting Manager to:
- Review engagement trends within a manager's team.
- Monitor changes in team sentiment over time.
Identify areas requiring managerial support.
Comparing Results by Job Title or Reporting Manager
The Pulse Compare feature now supports Job Title and Reporting Manager as comparison dimensions.
Compare by Job Title
- Navigate to Pulse and click on Compare.
Select Job Title as the comparison axis.
Choose one or more titles.
A separate comparison row is displayed for each selected title.

Compare by Reporting Manager
- Navigate to Pulse and click on Compare.
Select Reporting Manager as the comparison axis.
Choose one or more managers.
A separate comparison row is displayed for each selected manager.

This makes side-by-side benchmarking easier.
- Click any Employee Pulse Score metric to view its detailed insights and related data.
- Use the filter bar to refine results by:
- Job Title
- Reporting Manager
You can also apply existing filters such as Department, Location, Tenure, Gender, Age, and Worker Type.
Additionally, you'll find Happiness-related questions, along with their sub-metrics, response breakdowns, and participation percentages.
How Filtering Works
The new filters behave consistently with existing report filters.
Multi-Select
You can select multiple titles and multiple managers.
Apply-Based Filtering
Reports refresh only when you click Apply.
Combined Filtering
Job Title and Reporting Manager work alongside all other report filters.
Current Organisation Structure
Both filters are resolved using the organisation's current employee and reporting hierarchy data.
Notes
- Job Title and Reporting Manager are available across Surveys and Pulse reporting.
- Multiple values can be selected.
- Results update only after clicking Apply.
- Reporting Manager includes direct reports only.
- Clearing selections removes the filter.
- Job Title and Reporting Manager can also be used as comparison axis in Pulse Compare.
