The Goals, Sub‑goals & Tasks Report helps you track not just what goals were set, but what work is actually being done to achieve them.
By including tasks alongside goals and sub‑goals, this report provides complete visibility into execution across the organisation.
Who Should Use This Report
This report is useful for:
- Managers reviewing execution during goal check‑ins
- HR and admins analysing goal progress and delivery
- Leadership teams looking for end‑to‑end traceability from strategy to action
How to Access the Report
- Go to Performance from the left navigation.
- Click Reports.

- Apply the required filters.
Click Run to generate the report.
What This Report Includes
The report shows three levels of execution in one place:
- Goals
- Sub‑goals
- Tasks (new)
Tasks can be:
- Directly linked to a goal, or
- Linked to a sub‑goal under a goal
This allows you to see how day‑to‑day work rolls up into broader objectives.
How the Hierarchy Is Represented
The report uses a flattened hierarchical format.
- Each row represents one item (goal, sub‑goal, or task).
- The hierarchy is inferred based on which columns are populated.
Hierarchy Rules
| Scenario | Goal Columns | Sub‑goal Columns | Task Columns |
|---|---|---|---|
| Task linked to a Goal | ✅ | — | ✅ |
| Task linked to a Sub‑goal | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Goal without Sub‑goals or Tasks | ✅ | — | — |
This structure keeps the report easy to scan and export, without adding complex parent‑child indicators.

Filters Supported
You can filter the report using existing filters such as:
- Timeframe
- Department
- Owner
- Goal Type
- Goal Status
- Tags
Tasks automatically follow the same filters as their parent goal, ensuring consistency in results.
How to Read the Report
- A goal with multiple tasks will appear in multiple rows (one per task).
- Goals and sub‑goals may repeat to maintain hierarchy context.
- Rows with empty task columns indicate goals or sub‑goals without tasks.
This design ensures all task data is visible without losing goal context.
Common Use Cases
- Understand which tasks are contributing to a goal
- Identify gaps where goals exist but execution is missing
- Track task delays impacting goal timelines
- Export a single report for audits, reviews, or leadership updates
Important Notes
- Report size may increase significantly depending on the number of tasks.
- For large datasets, exports are optimised to handle higher volumes.
- Clear column naming helps avoid confusion when analysing hierarchy.
Why This Report Matters
Earlier reports focused only on goal structure.
This report completes the picture by adding execution‑level visibility.
With the Goals, Sub‑goals & Tasks Report, you can now track: Strategy → Breakdown → Action—all in one place.
