Keka now allows US employees to have no probation or notice period policies, removing dummy entries, simplifying onboarding, exit processes, and aligning with US employment-at-will practices.
Key Updates for Admins
Add Employee & Preboarding
Step 2 (Job Details) dropdowns for Probation policy and Notice period now include:
--- No probation policy ---&--- No notice period policy ---Selecting these treats the employee as having no policy; duration shows 0 days.
Default pre-fill from Auto-assigner or default policies is retained.
Imports (US)
Fields now optional: Probation policy, Probation end date, In probation, Notice period.
Validation: If one probation field is filled, all 3 must be provided.
Blank fields = Not set (US); default policies applied for India/other countries.
Employee Profile & My Profile
Displays In probation? & Notice period as
-Not set-if no policy.Admins can add/remove policies (removal only if probation evaluation hasn’t started).
Past probation evaluations are retained but hidden from tabs until a policy is assigned.
Resignation & Exit
Last Working Day (LWD) defaults to resignation date if no notice period.
Resignation form field renamed Preference on last working day (required, date picker for current/future dates only).
Info displayed:
(No notice period policy assigned to this employee)Holiday restrictions on LWD are ignored.
Exit tasks, approvals, and portal access follow normal workflow.
Reports, Templates & Dashboard
Blank fields shown in reports if policies are not assigned.
Document placeholders & event triggers resolve probation = 0 days / NA, notice period = 0 days / NA.
Dashboard cards update correctly; employees without policies are excluded from summaries.
API & Audit Logs
Adding, updating, or removing policies fully supported.
Audit logs track all changes.
Feature controlled via backend flag, not hard-coded to US.
