Understanding Implicit Roles
Implicit roles in an organization are roles assigned to employees based on their positions, such as reporting managers or department heads. These roles come with specific privileges that enable individuals to perform tasks or make decisions on behalf of their employees or within their designated areas of responsibility. For example, reporting managers have privileges to manage their direct reports' work and performance, while department heads may have privileges for budget management and decision-making within their departments. These privileges are crucial for effective job performance and are typically managed through access control or permission systems to balance access and security.
How to Manage Permissions for Implicit Roles?
In Keka, global admins have the authority to manage permissions for implicit roles. These roles are categorized based on the privileges listed on the left and the designations on the top. To see all the privileges, you can click on Expand all(1). To make changes to these permissions, you can click on Edit Permissions(2). This functionality allows global admins to control what specific privileges each implicit role has within the organization.
When you click on Edit Permissions in Keka, you will be redirected to another screen where you can easily manage permissions for implicit roles. On this screen, you will see a list of privileges and designations with checkboxes next to them. To activate a permission, you can simply check the corresponding box, and to deactivate it, you can uncheck the box.
Click on Save Permissions(3) after making the necessary changes.
