Introduction
There are several components like employer's statutory contributions (PF, ESI, LWF), and allowances that the employers offer to the employees. Some allowances might be paid as additional benefits while other contributions of PF, ESI, LWF etc by employers are important for regulatory compliance. While these components will be a part of the employee's CTC, these components may or may not be included in the employee's gross salary in all cases. Some organizations choose to keep these components outside the employee's salary and these are paid by the employer over and above the employee's monthly salary.
Until now in Keka Payroll, if any component was marked as paid outside the annual salary then it did not become a part of the employees payslip. This was only shown to the employee in their salary timeline.
This used to impact the employees in two ways:
- They would see a difference in the CTC promised to them and the actual salary paid to them every month in their salary slip.
- They would not be able to understand the benefits being provided by their employer over and above the annual salary.
Hence, we have provided the ability to admins to show any component that is marked as paid outside annual salary in the employees payslip.
Procedure
Let us take a look at how to show components marked as outside annual salary in the payslip -
Go to the Payroll section.
Go to Settings (1), you will be directed to the Pay Groups tab. Select the desired paygroup for which you would like to make the changes and click on the Configure (2) icon.
Now, go to Other Settings (1), you will be directed to Payslip Settings under which you will have to click on the 3 dots and then click on Update settings (2).
The Update payslip settings will open up under which you will see the new option available to Include allowances and employer contributions outside annual salary in payslip (1).
Once you check the option, more options will appear with the various allowances and employer contributions that are configured as outside the annual salary.
Here, you can select the components that you want should appear in the payslip.
And finally, click on Save (1).
Here is a sample payslip to demonstrate how the additional components marked as outside salary will be displayed to the employees in their respective payslips. As can be seen, they will be shown under Other Components.
We hope you now have a good understanding of this new addition to Keka. Please feel free to reach out to our product experts for any queries!
