Is there any fees associated with payment automation?

Yes, convenience fee is fixed at INR 3 + GST @ 18%  per employee per transfer.  To know more about it please refer to the article How is convenience fees for salary payment calculated.

Can I make payments from my bank account instead of transferring funds to Keka?

No, you need to transfer funds to the disbursal account managed by Keka for payments to be processed. 

Can funds deposited in the disbursal account be withdrawn?

Once funds are deposited in the disbursal account, they are dedicated solely for salary disbursements and cannot be withdrawn. Unlike a wallet, these funds are not meant to be returned once deposited, and they will stay in the account indefinitely. There is no expiration date, allowing you to utilize any extra funds for future payments. Additionally, you have the flexibility to split payment batches, process salaries for specific groups of employees, and even hold funds for later salary disbursements. This ensures efficient and customizable salary payments for all employees involved.

Is this an API based integration?

Yes, Keka's payment automation system is integrated via API to ensure seamless transactions.

What will be shown in the employee bank statement?

Your legal entities name will appear in the payment remarks in employee's bank statement. The payer name will reflect as 'Keka Technologies Private Limited'.

What is the usual time salary deposit takes to reflect in the employee's bank?

Salary deposits typically reflect within 30-60 minutes when processed via NEFT. If there are no issues from bank's end.

Can funds be deposited on the same day to initiate transfers?

Funds must be deposited into the disbursal account at least one day prior to the scheduled salary payment day. The deposited funds will reflect in the disbursal account on the following working day after they have been deposited.

Can funds be deposited in the disbursal account on weekends?

Funds can be deposited on any day, but please note that settlements in the disbursal account do not take place on weekends or bank holidays. As a result, the funds will reflect in the disbursal account on the next working day after they have been deposited.

Can I pay salaries for only few employees at once? 

You can split the payments into separate batches and make salary payment to only a few employees.

What should I do if I decide not to process salary payments through Keka for a specific month?

In that case you can either disable the automation and re-enable it when needed, or you can choose not to initiate salary payments for a specific month and process them manually.

Can I automate salaries through Keka for multiple pay groups?

There are no restrictions on the number of pay groups that can be automated for salary payments through Keka. Each legal entity will have a dedicated disbursal account through which all payments will be processed seamlessly.

What happens if there is insufficient balance in the disbursal account?

If the disbursal account does not have enough funds. You will be able to see the exact amount needed to complete the payment, and you won't be able to initiate the salary payment if there are insufficient funds in the account.

Is there a limit to the number of employees that can be paid through the disbursal account?

No, there is no limit to the number of employees that can be paid through the disbursal account.
