How to Configure Submission of Current Timesheets When Past Timesheets Are Pending

Learn how to allow employees to submit current timesheets even if past timesheets are pending

Managing timesheets efficiently is crucial for project tracking and payroll accuracy. Typically, employees submit timesheets at the end of each designated period. However, there may be instances where employees need to submit their current timesheets even if they have pending submissions from past periods. Keka allows you to enable this flexibility through Timesheet Policy settings.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to configure this option.

Steps to Enable Submission of Current Timesheets with Pending Past Timesheets

  1. Navigate to Timesheet Policies:

    • Go to the Project tab on the Keka portal. Select Policies & Settings.
  2. Edit the Timesheet Policy:

    • Under the Timesheet Policy section, you'll find a list of all available timesheet policies. Identify the policy you wish to update and click on the Edit button beside the policy name.

  3. Configure Submission Settings:

    • In the Edit Timesheet Policy window, go to the Submission Settings section. Check the box that says Allow submitting current timesheets even if past timesheets are not submitted.

  4. Save Changes:

    • After enabling the setting, click Update to save the changes.

Why Enable This Option?

  • Flexibility: Employees can keep their current timesheets up-to-date without delays caused by pending past submissions.
  • Improved Productivity: Reduces bottlenecks in project and payroll processes, allowing seamless reporting and tracking.
  • Compliance: Ensures compliance with company policies by maintaining an accurate and timely record of current tasks and hours.
