This helps to motivate employees to complete their required hours of work, as there are consequences for falling short. When there are no consequences for not meeting the minimum work hours, employees may not feel as motivated to work efficiently or may take advantage of the flexibility of the tracking policy. Penalising for a shortage of work hours can help ensure that work is being done effectively and efficiently.
