How can an Admin change the leave type/leave dates for an approved leave?
Employees have access to various leave types depending on different scenarios. For instance, Earned/Privileged leave can be encashed or carried forward, while Sick/Casual leave expires at the end of the year or during exit. In some cases, employees may wish to change the leave type they applied for if they have a balance available in Sick/Casual leave.
Additionally, if an employee initially applies for a long leave but later decides to shorten or extend it, the leave dates will have to be adjusted accordingly.
Although employees themselves cannot change the leave type, the Reporting Manager, Global Admin, or HR Manager can make this change on behalf of the employee.
To change the leave type of an approved leave, in the Global Search (1), search for the employee's name and go to the employee's profile.
In the Employees profile under Time (2) select Leave (3).
Now scroll down to the bottom of the page to Leave History and search for the leave that you would like to change.
Under Actions click Options (4) and then select Change Leave Type (5) or Change Leave Dates (6) as per your requirement.
When you select Change Leave Type, In the window select the New leave type (7) from the drop-down, enter the Reason (8), and click Confirm (9) and the leave type will be changed.
If you select Change Leave Dates, in the window, select the New Leave Dates (10), enter the Reason (11), and click Confirm (12). The new leave dates will be taken into consideration and the leave balance will be adjusted accordingly.
Hope the process to change the leave type or the leave dates of approved leave is now clear. Please let us know if you find the article helpful.
